“It was a pleasure working with Bridgetown on our new 5 bbl pilot brewhouse and cellar. The Bridgetown crew fabricated and installed a high quality custom brewhouse and fabricated it all on a very tight timeline. They were very patient with all my questions and was there to help step by step from design, delivery, install, and commissioning. We were very impressed with the construction and quality during our on-site visits to their shop and obvious they could turn out a system that met our needs and quality requirements.” Daniel Sharp, Director of Brewing Process Development

We purchased a 5 barrel fermenter from Bridgetown Brew Systems last winter. It was delivered on time at the agreed upon price and in great shape. Loren and his team did a great job on it. We are very pleased with the quality of the work and components. I would not hesitate to call on them again for further needs.

We came across Bridgetown Brew Systems when we were searching for a brew house to suit our small brewery. We knew we wanted something American built that could suit what we anticipated our initial needs would be, and something that would allow us to grow into it as production needs increased.

We were going on vacation, and knew we’d be near Bridgetown, so we reached out to them ahead of time to see if we could come by and check out their production.

They were beyond gracious, and showed us a brew house they had just built that was similar to what we had wanted. They talked to us about how they could customize and build to suit. From that point on, we had our hearts set on a Bridgetown Brew Systems brew house.

Loren was amazing to work with in building us the perfect system, and in the year and a half we’ve been brewing, everything has worked just as it should, and they’ve been a great help in answering any questions. We purchased a 5 barrel brew house with and oversized mash tun.

It’s the one large equipment purchase we’ve made where we got to experience firsthand the craftsmanship and pride Bridgetown takes in their work.

Thank you, Bridgetown Brew Systems team!

Loren from Bridgetown made a great first impression on us by graciously answering our under-educated questions about commercial brewing systems and emailed us a quote the same day.  After several months of exploring dozens of other options we had narrowed our choice down to 4 or 5 possibilities, with 4 of them located in and around Portland.  The principle members of the Build Team at Flying Bike Cooperative Brewery decided to take a road trip from Seattle to visit several Portland manufacturers.  While we were attracted by the low prices of imported brew systems, we had our concerns about quality and longevity and who would service them.  And, while impressed with the high quality of another leading brew system manufacturer, we could not fit into their schedule, nor could we afford their systems.

When we arrived at Bridgetown we discussed our plans and requirements.  We pored over a 10BBL system ready for shipment to another brewery, inspecting every detail. Bridgetown displayed impeccable craftsmanship, attention to detail and competitive pricing.  We loved the fact that they were completely US designed and fabricated.  Once we returned home we called references we had found, and some that Bridgetown had provided.  We were blown away with their ringing endorsements!  We signed a contract with Bridgetown for a 7BBL brew system and immediately Loren, Marc and his crew worked to designed a system that met our specializations and was customized for our very space.  Their team is delivering the system early, within our budget and the quality is top tier. What more could one ask for in a brew system manufacturer?

We look forward to thousands of barrels of production from this system and we know we can count on the support and quality of Bridgetown for years to come.

Five Star Review:

My project required a custom made distilling system that was unique to my industry. After looking at countless websites, I called Bridgetown Brew Systems. I thought it would be a long shot that they would take my needs seriously, but I was wrong.  Not only were they willing to take on my “oddball” project, they went the extra mile by visiting my shop so that they could fully understand my needs. I worked with at least 3 different staff members at Bridgetown Brew Systems, their customer service matched the quality of the unit they produced for us!  Its a beast of a beautiful unit, and it has increased our production at least 10 fold.

Bridgetown Brew Systems built our Brewhouse and we couldn't be happier with it.  We came to BBS after another manufacturer backed out on our project.  With our tight timeline and custom specs, BBS came through in a big way.  The brewhouse was built extremely well and performs beautifully.  In all our communications, Loren and the crew were professional and prompt. Without reservation, we would buy from Bridgetown again.

Dear Loren and Marc

I just wanted to drop you a note thanking you for putting together a great system for us. I know that it has been a while since we picked up our system, but installation went without a hitch. We have now been open 3 months and have 19 batches through the brewhouse. We have not had any issues or problems with the system, in fact it has performed flawlessly. The brewhouse cleans up very easily with a spray ball and proper CIP process.

We are very pleased with all aspects of our transactions with Bridgetown Brew Systems, from our initial contact, when you took time to meet with us on a Saturday morning of a 4 day weekend. Adapting through the changes we made to the system while we were at CBC last year. Making yourselves available to our third party inspector. Having the system ready for our inspection and helping with loading to ensure we could get it home safely.

The quality of the system overall is exceptional. The attention to detail and quality of fit is unlike any of your competitors that we compared you to. This is coming from someone who has spent the prior 30 years in the precision sheet metal industry as an engineer.

Your customer service is what every company should strive to exhibit. We would like to express our availability to discuss the quality, craftsmanship and overall satisfaction to any of your potential customers. We will definitely be contacting you in the future with our expansion plans.

We look forward to seeing you at CBC this year.

We could not be happier with our beautiful still, it’s taken pride of place in our bar and I’m sure will be working hard way beyond my lifetime.  From our first phone call Loren was on board with our vision and helped us solve all the issues that we didn’t even know to expect. He was patient and calm with our endless questions and it certainly felt like a collaboration from the start.  The engineering is immaculate and the whole team is proud of the addition. Despite many fingerprints left by intrigued customers, he’s still looking shiny and new.  Thank you Bridgetown!

We went with Bridgetown in order to convert our three year old direct fire stills to steam.  Loren and his crew were incredibly communicative and accommodating throughout the whole project.  Distillers are superstitious and picky about equipment, myself included, and several months later I still could not be more certain that we hired the best people for the job.  All three stills were refitted with new  lower jacketed copper pots and stands and continue to operate beautifully with no change in quality or flavor of distillate.  It was exactly what I’d hoped for.  Not to mention their work looks great.  It’s this craftsmanship and attention which raises Bridgetown Brew Systems to an uncommon class. I’ve already been a return customer once and plan on doing so again.  Great company, great work.

We have a Bridgetown brewhouse and four cellar tanks—the Bridgetown product is strikingly good-looking...clean with exceptional attention to detail. Equipment is easy to setup and use. We plan on mash extraction efficiencies of 85% and overall efficiencies of 90% for our core beers on Bridgetown equipment. What sets Bridgetown apart is customer service and responsiveness. I have held late night and weekend FaceTime telecons when first firing up the equipment. Loren and his team are always available. I’ve not encountered a problem Bridgetown didn’t solve. When we outgrow our current system, we will upgrade with Bridgetown equipment.

Loren and the Bridgetown team have been nothing short of amazing. Not only do they have incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail, but they've gone above and beyond to help us out as a new startup distillery. Loren is always responsive same-day and is willing to share his expertise in the industry, even if it has nothing to do with his equipment. These guys are just as helpful and engaged with their customers after the sale as they are beforehand. We'll be working with the team at Bridgetown for a long time! Would highly recommend for anyone entering the brewing or distilling industry at any level.

I am not much for taking the time to write reviews, but Bridgetown surpassed our expectations in every way possible.  The professionalism from the planning, to the quoting, right through to the production, implementation and then follow-up support cannot possibly be described by words.  Almost 2 years from our purchase date we continue to be as happy as we were on day 1.  Our doors remain open to anyone considering Bridgetown for anything to come spend a few hours or a few days to see the equipment first hand.  It is rock solid, well thought out, had ZERO corners cut while being manufactured, and of all the purchases I have made in my lifetime (which is a lot) I am the happiest with this purchase.  True story.  You can save money by buying from China or other low budget manufacturers, but if using the equipment is your livelihood don't do it.  Buy from these guys and you'll thank yourself for that decision every day for years. We do.

We have been using Bridetown equipment for about one year now and could not be happier. When shopping for distillery equipment, you typically have to balance price, quality, or lead time. With Loren at Bridgetown, you don't need to settle for less. Our equipment was delivered in under three months. The prices are significantly less than German stills. Bridgetown has American welders with 20+ years of experience. You can rest assured that the quality of the welds will always outshine the questionable welds of Chinese made stills. This equipment is built to last, and it looks beautiful too.

We at Stone Church Brewing had seen a Bridgetown brew system at another local brewery and were impressed with the quality and the simplicity. After speaking with the guys of Bridgetown we quickly understood their passion to make quality systems and their dedication to customer service. We didn’t hesitate on pulling the trigger on this purchase. Since taking delivery of this system one and a half years ago we have brewed close to 150 batches of beer. This system makes wort consistently from batch to batch. This is very important for our core beers. In buying a Bridgetown system we paid a little more than we would have for a Chinese system. The quality and ability to customize was worth every penny. This is an American made system with American made components. This was important to us. Stone Church Brewing is 100% satisfied with every aspect of the Bridgetown brew system

We have nothing but good things to say about Bridgetown.  When we were in the process of shopping around, we spoke with many manufacturers (some including Portland Kettle Works, Premier Stainless, Marks Metalworks, Ager, JVNW, NSI, O'Neills).  We ended up choosing Bridgetown over the competition for a variety of reasons, including: quality of the equipment (e.g. the welds, design, and metalwork are outstanding), it's American made, the price, and the responsiveness of Loren and the Bridgetown team.  The experience as a whole was great, Bridgetown built exactly what we wanted, and they even beat their time estimate in having our system completed, so that was a pretty awesome bonus.

Furthermore, I can't tell you how nice it is to be able to call up a manufacturer and talk to the guys who built the system (ours is a 10-BBL steam powered 3-vessel brewhouse).  Any time I had any questions, or if I wanted to talk about additional equipment, I know I can all up and get answers quickly.  It's incredibly nice to have a manufacturer who stands by their systems in such a way.  Other manufactures can take notes from Bridgetown on great communication and customer support.  We are extremely happy that we chose Bridgetown, we see our setup lasting us a long time, and we are excited to do business with them in the future.  Cheers!

I am happy to give me feedback on Bridgetown Brew Systems (BBS). While we are still in our early days of use of the system, the functionality has been great. BBS was amazingly responsive, and able to help us deal with the Portland Fire Marshal’s office with all of their safety concerns. This is not part of their job as a fabricator: however, they were always available to field phone calls, provide cut sheets on motors, and generally helped a ton with what, for us, was a nightmare.

I’m not a metalsmith by any means, however, I can look at the craftsmanship and care that went into the production of our distilling plant. I have had several individuals from the public walk through our facility and compliment the quality of the welding. It makes me proud of what we use as our show piece.

They were also able to deliver on our original timeline, even though we weren’t ready. I know that this was a huge concern on the front end of the project as we were coordinating construction of a restaurant at the same time as installing a DSP.

In short, I have been very pleased with my interactions, communication, delivery, and the physical unit that sits wrapped in glass in our facility.

Bridgetown Brew Systems manufactured a 5 barrel, 3 vessel Brewhouse, some Fermenters and a Bright Tank for us at Magic Hat.  We are extremely pleased with the quality of the equipment and enjoy brewing on it immensely.  We use the equipment for pilot and small batch products and it replicates our larger Brewhouse for easy scale up.  Working with BBS was a great pleasure as they understood our needs and worked within our timeline.  We would easily chose them again for brewing equipment.

When I was working on developing the concept that would guide Bookhouse Brewing, I knew that a portion of the consideration would be working with American-made equipment whenever possible. The list of suppliers who met that requirement was fairly short, and while researching each of the available suppliers, I contacted every major supplier I could find - some didn't respond, were dismissive, were inadequate in attention to detail or thoroughness of communication, or had other issues that lost my interest. Eventually, it came down to Bridgetown and another Portland-based supplier. I made an in-person visit to Bridgetown and the other supplier, and was supremely pleased that I did, because I was quickly able to make my decision to work with Bridgetown. Not only was Bridgetown's shop spotless, their work area efficiently organized with no signs of cross contamination, but their pride and quality of work shone through in every interaction I had with the team.

Loren is a down-to-earth, brewer's brewer kind of guy, and was incredibly fair and straightforward in talking through questions, developing a quote, customizing small details, and being patient and honest in every interaction. His communications were professional and consistent, from answering questions while under the weather, to being available via phone, e-mail, and text. Our equipment was finished ahead of schedule, Loren found us a top-notch freight provider, and his support while commissioning the brewhouse was flawless, including reaching out to secondary suppliers with questions that he couldn't answer. As with selling beer, any form of sales is principally about relationships, and our relationship with Bridgetown and its work has been ideal and without complaint.

When we were ready to expand from our nano brewery we got quotes from all over.  The brand name manufactures were well out of our budget for a startup. The prices from overseas manufacturers were on the low side, but we feared the quality of work would not be up to our standards.  When Loren quoted us on our 10bbl brewhouse we were immediately interested, as the pricing for USA manufactured system was very competitive.  We made a trip to Big Stump Brewing to take a look at their Bridgetown 10bbl system and was impressed with the craftsmanship.  I called Loren and asked him if he could make of few changes on the system to work better for our brewery and beer styles.  Bridgetown accommodated all of our requests without any hesitation.  The system was completed on a timely manner and we weren't ready for it.  Loren was kind enough to delay shipment for a month so that it was out of our way.  When it arrived every piece was labeled which made it a breeze to plumb together,  The quality of the work is top notch and customer service is exceptional.  We wouldn't hesitate to use Loren and his team to build us any future equipment.

"First i'd like to start by highlighting the impeccable customer service we've gotten from Bridgetown. They made the whole process a breeze. The communication and detail aspect of building a custom brewhouse absolutely blew us away. These guys were on top of it! It’s no surprise when we took delivery of the system it met and exceeded our expectation. A beautiful, flawless, custom brew system arrived and ready to crank some beer.

We have a unique brew space, therefor we had no choice to design a custom brewhouse that would fit, and work for our brewery. Called Bridgetown to discuss our scenario and brew space, next thing you know, Bridgetown was on-site measuring our space helping us design the project. Ultimately, we ended with a unique combi-style brewhouse. Our HLT sits below the Mashtun, the Mashtun manway is at a 45 degree angle facing the door for grain-out. Special steep stair to climb to the platform with an already tall, but narrow platform run.

I can go on, and on about my experience with Bridgetown. I’ve never seen such commitment to excellence as these guys, from the initial email, to brewhouse setup, they knocked it out of the park. Not to mention the brewhouse they built us is a dream come true! Incredible piece of artistry!

I would highly recommend Bridgetown Brew Systems.  " Tommy Ortega

What stands out to me in my Bridgetown brew system is the quality, design, and value. The 7 bbl brewhouse I purchased from Loren and his crew is beautifully welded and built to last. The design features I'm impressed with include an oversized kettle drain and multiple mash tun drains. I hear lots of manufacturers state they are brewers but I see it in lorens design. It's a well thought out brewhouse. I consider value to be the intersection of cost and quality. I received multiple bids when I was searching for a brewhouse. Loren's work immediately stood out from the rest. In addition, Loren was readily available to answer any questions I had during the manufacture and continues to assist me when issues arise. Without hesitation I would recommend Bridgetown Brew Systems to build your brewhouse.

This might sound more like a promotion rather than a review. The folks at Bridgetown make quality stills. I have been so happy with their product that I went back to them for my second distillery. I have not used any other still manufacturer but I have compared my stills with others that I have seen visiting other distilleries. I've used the both 6 plate and 16 plate stills from them and they are a beasts.

The people of Bridgetown will give you, not only a great still, but also great support. Not once have I called Loren with a question that he wasn't able to answer. When you call, you go straight to the source.

With a fairly large tap room and restaurant space, we knew we wanted a smaller brewhouse to complement our large system for experimentation and test brews. We examined nearly a dozen manufacturers and settled on Bridgetown Brew Systems for several reasons. First and foremost, their level of service is just superb. Loren in specific is always quick to respond to questions during the vetting process as well as service related matters post installation. They offer a complete steam system at the size (3.5 bbl) we were looking for at a reasonable price. We wanted to go with steam for purpose of consistency when scaling beers up to our 15 bbl brewhouse.

We have used our system for over a year now, putting out over 30 different beers. The system is easy to work with and pretty straight forward. The PID control system gives you excellent control over temperature, which has come in handy when brewing kettle sours. We're able to maintain temperature down to a degree as needed. The hopback/grant tank works great at clarifying wort and using for whole cone hop additions. Having a second HLT tank has been great too! We use it frequently for pasteurizing lines and our keg manifold as well as a vessel for CIP. I loved working with Loren and the rest of the Bridgetown staff and would highly recommend them. They also build the system in the USA, which is always a plus for me!

We couldn't be happier with the one-on-one customer service and attention we received from Bridgetown Brew Systems. Loren was exceedingly patient with all of our questions and very helpful in working with us to put together a system that would meet our needs without exceeding our small-scale, start-up budget. We looked at several equipment manufacturers in the Portland area and picked Bridgetown based on the quality of workmanship displayed and overall value they presented and they haven't disappointed. Our system was delivered on time, carefully shipped to ensure it remained in great condition, without a single valve, clamp, or widget missing - a truly professional experience from a team we can tell cares about the quality of their product and stands behind the "Bridgetown" nameplate placed on each vessel. We can't wait to get it installed and start brewing great beers!
